Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your bed and walk.” (John 5:8)

It’s time to get up! It’s time to stop living life on the ground, it’s time to wipe the gravel off your face, and go after your God given destiny. I don’t have to tell you that life is hard, I don’t have to tell you that life will knock you down, but I will tell you that we serve a God that is bigger than any problems we face, we serve a God that will give us the strength we need to overcome the struggles of life.

In this story Jesus came to a man who had been in the same position for years and had given up on life. Jesus asked him a simple question “Do you want to get well?” We have to make a decision. We have to get up and say “enough is enough, I’m better than this, I am a Child of God, I am more than a conqueror, and It’s time for me to get up and fight with every fiber of my being!” When you have this attitude not only will you overcome your difficulties, but God will open up new doors, show you his favor, and bring your dreams to pass. Pick up your bed and Walk!!

One thing I’ve learned in my life is that God likes to outdo Himself. His dream for your life is so much bigger than your own. His ways are higher, and He has an appointed time of favor for your life. He is going to take you places that you never thought possible. He is going to open up doors that you never have imagined. He’s going to bring talent out of you that you didn’t even know you had. This is the time to get excited about your future! It’s time to get your hopes up because you have been chosen by the Creator of the universe. Your destiny is not determined by the economy, how you were raised, or your education. Your destiny is determined by Almighty God.

Today, I want to encourage you to set your thoughts on things above. It’s time for you to move up higher to a new level. The good news is that God has already laid out victory before you. I declare that in the days ahead you’re going to stumble into it. Get ready because God is going to raise you up into the life of blessing He has prepared for you!

“I remember sitting outside a Buddhist temple in Indonesia. Men and women filled the elaborate, colorful temple grounds, where they daily performed their religious rituals. Meanwhile, I was engaged in a conversation with a Buddhist leader and a Muslim leader in this particular community. They were discussing how all religions are fundamentally the same and only superficially different. “We may have different views about small issues,” one of them said, “but when it comes down to essential issues, each of our religions is the same.”
I listened for a while, and then they asked me what I thought. I said, “It sounds as though you both picture God (or whatever you call god) at the top of the mountain, and I may take one route up the mountain, you may take another, and in the end we will all end up in the same place.”
They smiled as I spoke. Happily they replied, “Exactly! You understand!”
Then I leaned in and said, “Now let me ask you a question. What would you think if I told you that the God at the top of the mountain actually came down to where we are? What would you think if I told you that God doesn’t wait for people to find their way to him, but instead he comes to us?”
They thought for a moment and then responded, “That would be great.”
I replied, “Let me introduce you to Jesus.””

Stop Thief!!

Dear friends, I hope one day you wake up to the realization that I woke up to some time back. I cannot quite recall his name but this young man said something that totally transformed my perspective on life. I will set the foundation for this profound word of wisdom by running you through some scenarios and experiences…
The backstabbing friend(s) who made you vow not to have anymore close friendships again.
The unfaithful lover(s) who made you vow never to even give 50% to the next one.
Dreams and hopes that got crushed to dust and caused you to always expect the worst.
Disappointment from those you trusted or expected better from, that caused you to lose your faith in the goodness and genuineness of humanity.
Yes my friends, those kind of experiences that have caused you to think that everyone and everything is out to get you so you need to shield yourself, guard your heart, watch your back, always be suspicious, paranoid….

Many times I’ve heard people proudly say ”Life has made me what I am today!” Without a doubt we are shaped by our experiences but the question here is how?
I’ve met many angry, bitter, paranoid, hateful, scornful, hard hearted, arrogant, timid, fear-filled people who believe they are justified in their character because afterall that’s what life has made them.
These are the people I’m talking to. I want to tell you what I learnt from that young man. Life has not made you what you are, in fact, life has robbed you! You should otherwise lament, “I’ve been robbed!”

It has robbed you of the ability to live, to trust, to pursue your dreams, to restore and make great and wonderful friendships, to love, to laugh, and even to cry and let yourself feel! You should cry out ” STOP THIEF!”

Yes life/experiences are supposed to teach you vital lessons but not make you a victim of robbery.
When you start to sense negative feelings or negative character build-up after an experience, maybe you need to check yourself and be sure that life has not run off with your “stuff”.
Here is some good news for those who recognize that they are victims of robbery and those that feel that their “stuff” is almost unrecoverable, “A thief comes to steal, kill and destroy but I come to give life, and life in abundance (John 10:10)”. The devil will use life to steal from you, kill your spirit (and sometimes your body) and totally destroy you but God the author of this life we live has the power to restore and let you experience his abundant life. A life of abundant peace, joy, love, happiness, righteousness, power…I could go on and on!

Remember that when God restores, he does not take you back to the same point you were at but he takes you to a place higher and above the place you were at! Say yes to this Jesus, commit to him and begin to watch the transformation and abundant life!

he said something along the lines of, “There’s evil in this world. Unfortunately there is an enemy. But there’s a good that is SO MUCH greater than this evil and overpowers it.”

when asked,”What do you think of him?”
he said, “He must be so angry. I can’t imagine what it must be like to wake up every day with that much anger. I know this isn’t popular opinion, but I feel sorry for him.”
Interviewer: “So you don’t hate him?”
man: “No. I’m going to pray for him.”

That my friends is Christianity.

It’s only by God that this man can be so kind!
